MOR is turning 6 on August 3, 2024
Thank YOU for your continued support!Welcome to MOR, we started as Milwaukee's dedicated gluten-free commercial kitchen and continue that stance even though we are temporarily baking out of a gluten-free commercial kitchen in Cedarburg to keep each of you safe from cross-contamination.
Besides MOR's weekly preorder menu, we have Pop Ups at MOR’s new location, 5504 W State Street, Milwaukee 53208 on Fridays from 3:30 - 6 pm. Every Saturday, find MOR at South Shore Farmer's Market from 8 am - 12 pm off of the corner of Estes & Superior.
MOR's new home is at 5504 W State Street, Milwaukee, WI 53208 and will be completed sometime in 2024.

A key point in the future of MOR
To our beloved MOR Family,
With deepest gratitude, thank you so much for supporting MOR Bakery MKE. Whether you just found us, ordered from us once, or you’ve been with us since our early days, we love and appreciate you. And we wouldn’t be here without you. You are our MOR Family.
I started MOR not just because I struggled to feed my son the safe, healthy foods he needed. I realized there was a dire need in our community to serve people who simply can’t get what they need from mainstream outlets: Safe whole-grain, gluten-free items, made freshly in a dedicated environment from real, recognizable ingredients. People with significant health issues and dietary restrictions like Celiac Disease, and the people who serve as their caregivers – everyone deserves to be welcomed at the table, with or without restrictions. That’s why MOR is here.
And you’ve responded. You tried us, you liked us, and so many of you kept coming back – again, sincerest gratitude.
As I’m sure you know, running a small business is challenging under any circumstances. Doing so in the food industry while focusing on serving a very specific customer base and navigating a global pandemic makes it even more challenging. We face the same inflation, inventory and staffing issues that have, sadly, proven to be too much for so many other small businesses in Milwaukee and across the country that have been forced to close their doors. My heart goes out to all of those small business owners because I understand the sorrow and exhaustion they have experienced. Although we are experiencing many of the same challenges, we continue to take the steps we feel are necessary to keep going and continue serving you, our Family.
We initially adopted our made-to-order, pickup-only format to help us – and you – get through the pandemic. Today, we continue to keep this format in place intentionally, as it has proven to be an important strategy that helps us navigate those ongoing inventory and staffing issues that seem to have no end in sight. The most important new development is this: We’re still around, and we intend to keep making delicious dishes that delight our customers for a long time to come – but we’ll soon be doing so in a new setting.
I want to let you know that MOR Bakery MKE is currently in the process of searching for a new location, and we will move from our current location before the end of 2023. We’ll let you know more of the details as soon as possible.
This is a major change for us, one that became necessary because of some circumstances we don’t control. And while I’ll keep the specific reasons for our move to myself, I will share that this is a key time for MOR Bakery, some may say critical. If you enjoy our products and believe in our mission, please continue to support us, especially over the coming weeks and months – and please tell your friends about us!
This project doesn’t just hold my heart and soul. It has become my purpose, and I don’t intend to give up.
With love,
Traci Morgan-Hoernke

Message From Our Owner
Welcome to MOR...
When I started this adventure over a decade ago, it was with one desire: feeding my little boy. Thirteen pounds at a year wasn’t something I planned for. Some of life’s challenges are just that, a challenge. Mine was to navigate the terrain of doctors’ visits, endless food aisles, and the daunting task of helping my child feel safe eating the food in front of him. Because when something so common actually makes you ill, trust is broken.
It became very important for our family to learn to trust the food in our lives again. This process took a lot of research and attention to details, which has translated into the dedication I have when baking for others. My standards are simple: I use real, whole, often organic ingredients, locally sourced when possible, and freshly made in small batches as you would in your own kitchens. I want to feed others no differently than my grandmothers fed me – with care and compassion.
So I invite you to stop by MOR (“mother” in Swedish) and be part of our community, an extended family. I look forward to meeting you soon.
Until then,
Traci
What Makes MOR.... More?
MOR’s entire concept is to feed our family safe, healthier Gluten-Free foods and it started with family,
specifically my son. As a family we struggled with finding foods and struggled with being welcomed at every table.
Eating with another and not worrying about what you’re eating should be easy for everyone.
Family and community have always been high priorities for me and as MOR continues to move through the last 3 years,
know keeping each of you safe is still incredibly important to me. It’s why MOR’s kitchen is dedicated gluten free. It’s why I seek out whole
grains and clean products to use in every single recipe. Providing food that makes life easier, what could be better?
If the last 3 years have taught me anything it's that we operate better when we focus on each other as a community and
lean into collaboration over competition. Thank you for being a part of MOR's community, a part of the MOR Family.
Sincerest gratitude for your support of ALL small businesses, it has made all the difference as we continue to ride the ripples that surround us all.
